Laluna Launches Second Season of the Laluna Art Project

For 25 years, Laluna has stood as one of Grenada’s most distinctive boutique hotels, known for its blend of Balinese soul, Italian design and Caribbean charm. Over time, Laluna has also become a strong supporter of the island’s creative community, offering space and opportunities for local talent to be seen and celebrated.

The journey began with the Enchanted Sculpture Garden, a forest by the sea transformed into a living gallery. Local and international artists were invited to create land art in harmony with nature, while the community was welcomed to explore and be inspired.

From that vision grew the Laluna Art Studio & Gallery, launched during the pandemic and now a vibrant platform for exhibitions. Unique in its approach, the gallery takes zero commission, ensuring that 100% of every sale supports the artists directly. At the same time, Laluna is building a permanent collection of donated works that reflect the evolving story of Grenada’s creativity.

The inaugural season featured a diverse range of artists, each bringing their own perspective and story to the space. Among them were Godfrey Luke, Judith Jarvis, Nisha McIntyre, Kristianne Buxo, Rebecca Thompson, and 27-year-old self-taught artist Richie Modeste, whose debut show sold out entirely. It was a clear sign that Grenadian artists, when given the opportunity, are ready to be seen.

“One of the concepts I really wanted to ensure was a platform for local resident artists to showcase their work,” says co-founder Wendy Bertucci.

Now, the second season of the Laluna Art Project opened with leading artist Nathan Downer, a Jamaican-born, Grenada-based painter. His bold, storytelling-rich works explore Caribbean identity and personal expression, setting the tone for Laluna’s most exciting season yet.
