We are so excited. And that comes as a big emotion for anyone currently in the Hospitality and Tourism industry.

As tough times faced us with the closure of the Grenada borders, the Government realizes that continued closure for the financial betterment of the people of Grenada is not feasible.

So in keeping with their theme of trying to keep the local population safe with the international health situation, the borders of Grenada will be opening to International flights, securely and with caution.

The first International flight from the United States is expected with JetBlue direct from JFK on 3rd October. It will continue with weekly flights every Saturday.

Air Canada from Toronto from the 5th October, will service the Canadian market, and with weekly service every Monday.

To follow will be American Airlines direct from Miami on 8th October, and continue weekly service every Thursday.

UK and European visitors can take advantage of frequent British Airways and Virgin Atlantic flights to the Barbados hub and on proof of a Covid-19 negative test (within 72 hours of arrival in Barbados) can transit seamlessly to the regional carriers providing connectivity to Grenada.

British Airways and Virgin Atlantic will resume their operations directly to Grenada this Fall.

Through the strict standards and protocols the Government of Grenada issued with anyone traveling to Grenada, these protocols are starting to ease up to visitors and returning nationals.

Visitors  flying in from the USA and Canada require the following:

  • Negative PCR test required within 7 days of travel
  • Minimum of 4-day reservation at approved accommodation (which Laluna is) for observation and quarantine.
  • Visitors on day 4 have the option to get a PCR test to be allowed into the community or remain at the hotels for the duration of their visit.
  • Residents on day 4 have to get a PCR test to be allowed to go home.

For all the protocols and information on Grenada opening up, visitors and returning nationals have to do before they arrive in Grenada and what to expect, please read the Government of Grenada Protocols.

Although there are no current cases on the island, and numbers remained low initially, because of the island’s strict standards and protocols, Grenada and the sister islands, remains a haven to be right now. In order for the Government of Grenada to continue to safeguard the health and safety of its local population, we ask the visitors to be understanding and adhere to the required protocols. Especially to help keep our Laluna staff safe, so that they can continue to serve you the best of their Grenadian hospitality.
