Laluna proudly celebrates its 25th Anniversary this year, marking a quarter-century of timeless romance, peaceful seclusion, and authentic Caribbean charm on the shores of Grenada.

Opening on December 14, 2000, Laluna began as an intimate collection of 16 romantic Balinese-inspired cottages, each designed for privacy and comfort. Featuring king-size four-poster beds, private plunge pools, and spacious verandas, the resort quickly earned its reputation as a discreet hideaway for couples seeking a one-of-a-kind escape.

From the start, Laluna’s beloved Italian restaurant became a centerpiece of the experience, blending Mediterranean flavors with Caribbean warmth.

Five years after opening, Laluna deepened its commitment to holistic wellbeing with the addition of the Wellness Center, offering daily yoga in varying styles and an Asian Spa staffed by skilled Balinese therapists. This expansion allowed Laluna to become a place not only of rest, but also of renewal and balance.

Ten years in, Laluna introduced a new dimension to its offerings with the construction of several five-bedroom luxury villas. Though initially sold, these beautiful homes later became part of Laluna’s exclusive rental collection. Ideal for families and small groups traveling together, while still maintaining the resort’s intimate atmosphere.

Two decades after opening, Laluna embraced art as a way of giving back to the community with the launch of The Laluna Art Project. This initiative includes a Land Art Sculpture Garden and an Art Studio showcasing local Grenadian artists, with 100% of sales going directly to the artist. This meaningful project reflects Laluna’s ongoing dedication to nurturing creativity and supporting the island’s artistic community.

Most recently, Laluna introduced The Monkey Bar, a fun, bohemian beach bar open every Friday to Sunday. With its relaxed seaside atmosphere, it has quickly become a favorite for both guests and locals, as well as a beautiful space for small private celebrations and personal events.

At the heart of Laluna’s success over the past 25 years is its extraordinary team. The resort is proud to still have five original staff members who have been part of its journey since the very beginning — some even helping to build Laluna with their own hands. Many others have been with the Laluna tribe for more than 20 years, creating a rare continuity of warmth, care, and genuine hospitality.
