Set against a stark black background, the composition draws from a well-worn Caribbean saying, “there are always two sides to a story”, and the truth often gets lost in between. Each woman’s face represents a partial narrative, belief shaped by bias and, recollection tinted by self-preservation. The gold isn’t clarity, it’s confession. In contrast, her muted skin tone, the gold amplifies the twinkle in her expression, that flicker of wit, wisdom, and inner fire. This piece honors the power of subtlety. “Twinkle” is not about grandeur but the wisdom that lives in restraint. The kind of beauty that doesn’t ask to be seen, but is impossible to ignore.
