In this first post, we will introduce ourselves. This may be the first time we are meeting, or it may be a reintroduction. Future posts will include information on accommodations, the romance you will find at Laluna, information on traveling to Grenada, wellness programs offered at the resort, island activities, and special events.

About Laluna

Laluna is a beachfront boutique resort located in Morne Rouge, Grenada, on the beautiful Caribbean Sea. As one of the southern-most Caribbean islands, Grenada enjoys temperate weather year-round, making it the ideal location for your island getaway in any season.

Quietly nestled on ten acres of untouched emerald green hills and a pristine white sand beach, Laluna is a discreet romantic hideaway. Although totally secluded, the property is conveniently located a mere ten-minute drive from both Maurice Bishop International Airport and Grenada’s capital city of St. George’s.

Laluna Design

The property was designed by Gabriella Giuntoli and Carmelina Santoro,  two acclaimed Italian designers. Responsible for creating living spaces for the rich and famousincluding Georgio Armani’s villa in PantelleriaMs. Giuntoli’s influence is felt throughout Laluna’s luxurious enclave of 16 cottages.

Traditional Caribbean materials are combined in a minimalist style with Indonesian elements throughout the resort. Warm natural tones and sensual textures are used in all the public spaces, as well as the interiors of the cottages. Intimate sitting areas with overstuffed pillows encourage private conversations. Clean, architectural elements are evident in all design aspects, from the lighting fixtures to the fresh-water pool.

The Private Cottage Suites

Each cottage is constructed based on an ancient Mediterranean formula in which specially treated cement is individually impregnated with pigments of inviting colors including warm cinnamon, sienna, and sun-kissed yellow. The 16 one-and-two bedroom private guest cottages are designed in an open-style plan to take advantage of the panoramic view of the ocean.

Generously sized and tastefully appointed bedrooms feature a king-sized bed outfitted in luxurious linens. Thoughtfully melding outdoor and indoor living, the bedroom opens onto an expansive veranda that is framed in natural cotton fabric and features a 31 square foot plunge pool and private veranda with daybed.

Incorporation of the natural environment continues on to the design of the open-air bathrooms, which feature ocean views and large, custom-made shower. Special touches are evident throughout, from the curvy light fixtures, to the soaps and lotions hand-made and selected for Laluna from a monastery in the Italian Alps.
