Where to find Grenada’s hot springs

Ask around to discover where the best springs can be located. One can be found near the town of Clabony in the south just off the road. There are also some located in the northeastern part of Grenada, which can be reached by Jeep, a little hiking and a local guide. The springs have not been made into a tourist destination, so they remain pure and untouched. Because of this, it takes a little know-how and determination to reach them.

Participants were encouraged to become a guest of the resort and capture an idyllic moment at Laluna, one that would sum up a “Perfect Day”, and submit it to the contest via Laluna’s Facebook page. The photograph with the most number of “Likes” by fans of Laluna was awarded the top prize.

A recent visitor to Laluna, Danielle, A.K.A. “Dallas Foodie” was named the winner of Laluna Resort’s 2012 “My Perfect Day at Laluna” Photo Contest. A well-known Dallas-based food social media journalist, Dallas Foodie perfectly captured the beautiful sunset from Laluna’s secluded beach, nabbing her the first-place prize of a one-night stay at the resort.

Main Club House Complex

Serving as the nerve center for the property, the complex consists of several low-lying wooden and cement buildings with overhanging thatched roofs. Open and airy, the Club House overlooks the large fresh-water swimming pool, which in turn overlooks the resort’s secluded white sand beach. The complex houses the administration offices, reception, bar and restaurant.

Dining

Laluna’s open-air restaurant sits directly on the beach, offering guests a romantic view of the Caribbean Sea. Seating only 48 diners, the intimate restaurant provides the perfect ambiance for guests to experience the tempting dishes prepared by Italian Chef Daniele Gaetano.

The restaurant’s unique wine cellar houses popular Italian wines, as well as a more select variety from small undiscovered wineries in Italy that may be new to wine lovers in North America. These have been specially chosen to perfectly complement the restaurant’s eclectic menu, which combine fare from the sea with the Italian specialties.

Sunset Bar

The Sunset Bar is a perfect location to recapture the day. Partially covered with a thatched roof and comfortably furnished with Indonesian daybeds and sofas, couples enjoy reading, relaxing, playing dominoes – and of course, enjoying a cocktail – throughout the day. Aptly named, the Sunset Bar faces west for maximum ‘sunset appreciation’.

Pool Area

The pool is a blue oasis framed by a emerald green sea, located directly on the resort’s secluded white-sand beach. Surrounded by a wooden deck tastefully appointed with teak sun loungers, the pool is mere steps both the beach and the bar. Resort guests can take a refreshing dip in the salty sea, and return to enjoy the fresh water or sunbathe along the 5’ wide shallow edge of the pool.

Fitness Room

With the vast Caribbean Sea (lap pool) and Grenada’s lengthy beaches (natural treadmill), guests at Laluna are able to enjoy nature’s gym. Of course, Laluna also offers a fitness room with a treadmill, stationary bicycle, weight machine, free weights and mini step machine for those who need the gym environment for their work-out routine.

The Sanctuary

Housing the Yoga Pavilion, Asian Spa and Organic Garden, the Sanctuary is set slightly apart from the rest of the resort, keeping it peaceful and quite all the day through.

Our Yoga Pavilion sits directly on the beach and features classes in varying yoga techniques: Kundalini, Vinyasa and Yin. Past guests will tell you that practicing yoga on the beach, with the sound of the waves lapping the on beach and the birds chirping, is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Offering daily yoga sessions, guests are able to select the classes they wish to attend based on their yoga preference or schedule.

The Asian Spa is the perfect place for guests to find true relaxation. With two treatment rooms that can be converted into a single unit for couples massages, the trained Balinese masseuses will work all the stress away. A Tatami room for floor massage on a Tatami mat allows for more stretching and the foot pressure of the therapist body weight. A wet room utilizes a Vichy shower, giving the sensation of a rain shower used between mud applications and massages.
