]]> Visitors to Grenada often enjoy sight-seeing on the other islands belonging to the tri-island state, including the beautiful island of Carriacou. The month of December brings the Annual Carriacou Parang Festival, with festivities carrying on from Friday, December 21st to Sunday, December 23rd.

Beginning Friday night, the Festival kicks off with an open-air concert at Carriacou’s new mini stadium. The opening-night concert includes carol singing, cultural presentations and parang string bands.

Saturday night brings live performances by international entertainers. Sunday is the big event: Organized parang groups from throughout Carriacou, Grenada and Petite Martinique compete for the challenge trophy and cash prizes, performing both a Christmas carol and their selected piece.
