While a relaxing getaway in paradise tops many visitor’s list of reasons to visit Grenada (and for good reason!), there are a bevy of other reasons to come to our island oasis. A lush, tropical island that has maintained its Caribbean charm and authenticity, Grenada has so much to offer visitors.
Continuing Education Credits
With St. George’s University occupying the “True Blue” portion of the island, Grenada plays host to a number of continuing education opportunities throughout the year. The school, known for its exemplary international medical and veterinary school, brings together great minds in human, animal, and ecosystem health during its “One Health One Medicine” conference, and then offers veterinarians the opportunity to earn CME credits during a selection of courses throughout the year.
While some visitors come to veg out, many competitors travel to Grenada throughout the year to test their skill and training against their peers. Be they sports fishermen, sailors, triathletes, or runners, Grenada offers a variety of competitions throughout the year. The winter months are most popular for water sports, including the Budget Marine Spice Island Billfish Tournament and Grenada Sailing Week; the Grenada International Triathlon Association puts on a couple of events a year, including the Tri de Spice over Easter weekend; and there are two half marathons on the island each year, including the Grenada General Insurance Half Marathon, held in November.
