Grenada is truly a sailor’s dream. Be you a hobbyist sailor or a competitive one, Grenada is an ideal location to set anchor for a while. With hurricane season having drawn to an end, the island is bustling with visitors who have sailed to Grenada.
Why Yacht-ers Love Grenada
Sailors return to our shores again and again for their ultimate yachting experience. A wealth of sheltered anchorages, year round good weather, fabulous waters in which to sail, plenty of activities ashore, and a wide range of top class facilities and services—coupled with the pure warmth of Grenadians—make Grenada a fantastic base for a sailing vacation or an extended cruise.
Grenada’s Ideal Location
Grenada’s surrounding waters offer some of the best sailing in the Caribbean, and as a result the island is one of the premier yachting centers in the region. Whether on your own boat, on a crewed yacht, or even a bare boat rental, Grenada is an excellent base from which to visit Carriacou, Petite Martinique, and the rest of the Grenadines.
Attractions for Yacht-ers
There are many locations for yachts to anchor, including Port Louis Marina, Prickly Bay Marina, Whisper Cove Marina, and Clarkes Court Bay Marina. Some marinas offer customs and immigration offices on-site for ease of entering the country; others will direct you to the closest port of entry. Most marinas are a short taxi ride away from local attractions, including grocery stores for restocking, the Esplanade for picking up gifts, restaurants, and local sights including the Grand Etang Rain Forest or the Seven Sisters Waterfall. Should you need to do any repairs, there are many shops that offer supplies on-island; should you need to have a part delivered from Stateside, FedEx, UPS, and USPS all ship to Grenada.
