Known for our distinctive aesthetic, aptly coined as “barefoot chic”, Laluna Resort sets ourself apart from other, “cookie cutter” properties. After working in the fashion industry for 15 years, Laluna’s owner, Bernardo Bertucci, applied the knowledge he acquired as a Marketing Manager at La Perla to create Laluna’s unique brand and an unmatched guest experience.
Laluna Resort’s Design
Bernardo collaborated with renowned Italian architect Gabriella Giuntoli, (who designed both Giorgio Armani’s and Sting’s villas), to perfect the design of Laluna Resort’s original 16 cottage property. After 15 months of construction, the dream of Laluna became a reality on Grenada’s beautiful, secluded beach of Morne Rouge. Designed by artfully pairing Balinese and Italian influences, the resort is unlike any other property on the island. Guests often marvel that they feel like they’ve escaped to another world—one that features elements from all of their favorite places.
Laluna Estate’s Design
The recently added Villas at Laluna Estate also exude a sense of beach-chic elegance. Working with the same builder that constructed Laluna’s signature cottages, the design team, this time including architect Salvatore Perna, has created magic once again. Featuring a breezy sense of Caribbean luxury, the Villas are tastefully designed and decorated to provide a relaxing, yet upscale, Grenada escape to guests.
Laluna’s Internationally Recognized Aesthetic
Laluna’s design has been put in the spotlight in features in Forbes Magazine Top 100 Hotels in the World, Cocotraie Magazine’s Design and Excellence Awards, The Sunday Times Travel Magazine 100 Best Hotels in the World, and most recently, Caribbean Journal’s Best Hotels for Design.
In Other’s Words
In the press, Laluna has been called “… a magical hotel set in a secluded bay, on the island of Grenada” (Vogue Magazine); “What La Perla is to lingerie, Laluna is to Caribbean resorts – so sexy and luxe it belongs in a glossy photo spread” (In Style); “Paradise found! Laluna combines the Italian enthusiasm and sensibility of its owner Bernardo Bertucci, with the relaxed Caribbean charm of his wife Wendy to achieve a truly magical experience” (Harper’s Bazaar); and “Laluna is a magical hotel set in a secluded bay, on the island of Grenada” (Vogue Magazine). While the authors paint a beautiful picture, the Laluna experience is one that must be experienced in person to be truly appreciated. We hope to have a chance to show that to you soon.
