British Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton was so taken by “X Factor” judge Nicole Scherzinger — his on-again, off-again girlfriend for seven years — that he started to build a special love nest for them in his ancestral home of Grenada.
Following their breakup, it’s now on the market.
Both stars are in the news this week: Hamilton for his epic win at the rain-soaked Monaco Grand Prix, and Scherzinger, the ex-Pussycat Doll, for her decision to pull out of “Cats” on Broadway a week before rehearsals — after Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber refused her request for top billing.
Hamilton’s grandparents emigrated to Britain from Grenada in 1955. The uber-chic contemporary beach villa that he was slated to purchase, in the luxurious Laluna resort and residences in the West Indies, is on a hill overlooking the ocean and comes with its own separate recording studio, built just for singer-songwriter Scherzinger.
After the relationship ended, Hamilton apparently couldn’t bear the sight of it and never finalized the purchase, even though the villa was customized for him and completed in January. The stunning house — including that recording studio — is now for sale for $4 million.
The spread comes with a gym that Hamilton designed, which will now be converted into a game room or an additional bedroom since there is already a gym at Laluna, resort owner/founder Bernardo Bertucci tells Gimme Shelter.
